Jay Bilas is an American college basketball analyst who is also known for his work as a commercial actor. Bilas has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1988 and has appeared in numerous nationally run television commercials. One of his most recognizable roles as a commercial actor was as an alien cop in a Budweiser commercial.
In fact, it was this Budweiser commercial that helped Bilas get into the Screen Actors Guild. He was quickly signed by an agent and began to book more commercial roles, including a role in a nationally run television commercial filmed at picturesque Point Fermin in San Pedro.
Bilas played college basketball at Duke University , where he was recruited by many of the major powers in college basketball. After graduating from Duke with a degree in Political Science, he went on to play professional basketball in Europe before returning to the United States to pursue a career in law.
Bilas earned his law degree from Duke and worked as a practicing attorney before joining ESPN as a college basketball analyst. He is known for his insightful analysis and his ability to explain complex basketball concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
