Who is Steve Smith Sr.?

Steve Smith Sr. tv commercials

Steve Smith Sr. is an American former football player, sports analyst, and commercial actor known for his appearances in numerous TV commercials. Born on May 12, 1979, in Los Angeles, California, Smith played 16 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and was a five-time Pro Bowl selection.

After he retired from professional football in 2017, Smith transitioned into television and film work, and quickly made an impression with his natural charisma and charm. He landed his first commercial gig with NFLShop.com within months of his retirement, and soon became a sought-after presence in the advertising industry.

Some of Steve Smith Sr.'s most notable commercial appearances include his roles in Pepsi's "No Can Defense" campaign, promoting the soda brand's latest bottle technology that can withstand party fouls; his appearance alongside former NFL players Michael Irvin and Reggie Bush in an ad promoting DirecTV's Sunday Ticket package; and his commercial work for Subway, in which he urges viewers to "make it what you want" with the sandwich chain's customizable options.

Smith has also appeared in television shows like "S.W.A.T." and "Inside the NFL," and has served as a sports analyst for the NFL Network. Despite his diverse career endeavors, however, Smith remains beloved by football fans as one of the most ferocious and dynamic receivers of his generation. His legacy on the field and his versatility off of it have cemented his place as an icon of American sports culture.
