Polident is a common and popular brand of denture cleaner. The effervescent tablets are typically used to clean and whiten dentures when they're dropped into a glass of warm water, but are recommended by orthodontists and dentists to be used to clean retainers, too.

The detergent (Sodium lauryl sulfate) will clean dentures by helping to lift the stain debris from the surface. The effervescent ingredients (sodium bicarbonate and citric acid) help to breakdown the tablet and disperse the above ingredients so they can get to work cleaning your denture.

Polident is safe for use with all denture materials. It is safe for use on porcelain or Acrylic teeth as well as all acrylics used for the base of the denture, regardless of its rigidity.

A solution of half vinegar and half water can be used as a denture cleanser and will make your dentures whiter than most commercial dental cleansers. First, soak your dentures in the solution. Then brush them thoroughly since soaking alone will not remove debris.
