Since opening in 1994 we have only required one discount in our restaurants - a free medium drink for firefighters in uniform. Firehouse Subs franchises are independently-owned and those franchisees are allowed to offer that discount, or extend it [as many do] to first responders and military.

The hooks would grab the ridge and hold the ladder in place so that the firefighters could work off the ladders. This is particularly helpful when there is a steep pitched roof. Especially when it is wet, it can be very hard for a firefighter to keep his footing.

Some scenes which take place in the Firehouse 51 kitchen are filmed in the actual firehouse kitchen, others are filmed on a studio set. If you see a door to the left of the cooking area, that is the studio set; if you see a drinking fountain, that's the actual firehouse. Filmed in Chicago.

Firehouse subs are consistent no matter which location. I like it over others because they use Boar's Head meats, which crush Subway and others on quality. Subs are loaded with meat and are always fresh. I like Jersey Mike's also, but find Firehouse better on price and a little better on meat quality.
