Date Code Molded Into Aluminum Castings​ On many Weber gas grills, you'll find a round date code molded into the cast aluminum firebox or lid panels for the month and year in which that part was manufactured.

However, except for the Weber Smokefire, all other Weber models are no longer made in the USA entirely. While several models are assembled locally, both the Spirit and Genesis II lines are now made and assembled entirely in Taiwan or China.

Weber grills can take a beating. They will all be fine after one rainstorm. You should use a cover to prevent long term rust issues or electronics issues if Smokefire or genesis with digital stuff. You may want to clean it though and heat it to thoroughly dry at some point.

The easiest and best way to make sure your PECI grates last as long as possible is to brush them every time you use the grill. Just preheat the grill on high for 15 minutes with the lid closed and then brush the grates clean with a Weber Stainless Steel Grill Brush.
