2013. For the 2013 model year, Jeep introduced the Trailhawk off-road oriented trim.

The name "Trailhawk" refers to a rugged, off-road oriented trim level for four Jeep SUVs - the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Compass, and Renegade. Every Trailhawk features durable equipment, standard 4×4, and the capability to take you off the beaten path.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee can do it all. With advanced four-wheel-drive systems, an available air suspension and lots of ground clearance, this SUV is an adept mountain climber. Yet thanks to its handsome styling and premium interior, it's still a great option for family duty or a night on the town.

Heavy oil consumption, premature wear, and unintended engine shutoff are the most common problems.

The compact SUV is now available only in Altitude Lux and Trailhawk trim levels, and the 3.2-liter V-6 has been dropped. The 2023 Jeep Cherokee lineup includes only two models: Altitude Lux and Trailhawk.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Initially debuted in 2013, only 2,000 units were built. The current-generation Grand Cherokee chassis is named “WK2” in Jeep speak, a platform that is derived from the Mercedes-Benz W166 platform.

All-terrain tires distinguish the Trailhawk from other trims in the Jeep Cherokee. The Trailhawk on the Grand Cherokee has custom 18-inch wheels. It also has all-terrain tires. This Jeep has underbody skid plates and an off-road suspension system.

What are the differences between the Latitude and Trailhawk? The Latitude has a significantly lower MSRP than the Trailhawk®. The Trailhawk® does, on the other hand, have more advanced features, including an 8.4-in. touchscreen display, distinctive red tow hooks, and a matte black hood decal.

Highs Good ride and handling, serious off-road capability, comfortable interior. Lows Unrefined base four-cylinder engine, poor fuel economy, limited cargo room. Verdict The Cherokee combines legitimate off-road ability with a surprisingly comfortable ride, but it's not a particularly good value in its class.

2011-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee problems such as fail-prone TIPM sensors, delaminating leather and cracked cylinder heads are usually found in early model years. The 2014-2017 V6 Grand Cherokee has a finicky 8-speed transmission and the 2013-2017 V8 is known for having a weak water pump.
