Air-Valve Secondary
On the secondary side of things, this line of AVS and AVS2 carburetors gets its name from the spring-loaded door over the secondary venturi. Carter called this an Air-Valve Secondary (a slightly different “AVS” definition than Edelbrock).
The Edelbrock AVS2 Series features annular flow primary boosters with a new calibration for improved off idle and cruising. The annular flow booster design also delivers improved fuel atomization to eliminate flat spots that can be encountered during idle to full throttle transitions.
