Kel-Tec CNC Industries Inc., commonly referred to as Kel-Tec, is an American developer and manufacturer of firearms. Founded by George Kellgren in 1991 and based in Cocoa, Florida, the company has manufactured firearms since 1995, starting with semi-automatic pistols and expanding to rifles and then shotguns.

KSG stands for KelTec Shotgun. A simple name for the first entry by Kel Tec into the scattergun world. This plays perfect into the design of the Kel Tec KSG because as a pump-action shotgun it doesn't get much simpler than that; on the surface at least. The KSG is a 12ga, pump-action, dual magazine, bullpup design.

Kel-Tec is known for making interesting firearms, but their reputation for reliability isn't exactly stellar. I have shot some and they work well enough, but even fans of Kel-Tec firearms find you have to do some “tuning” to get them to be reliable.

Our founder, George Kellgren, established KelTec in 1991 in Cocoa, Florida. Every firearm produced since that day has been designed by George under the guiding principle that these machines should be innovative in their design and exciting to use.

You'll typically see hunting shotguns available in 26-inch and 28-inch lengths. But shorter 22- or 24-inch barrels, and longer 30- and 32-inch barrels, aren't too uncommon.

Today. This unique shotgun is caltech's attempt to get in the law enforcement. Market it's very similar to their rfb designed rifle with the exception that instead of ejecting. Forward this ejects.

The accuracy of the KSG is, like most shotguns, incredibly lethal at or under 25 yards. My playtime, er....testing... was primarily short-range courses, with mostly 2 ¾” load in a variety of Winchester and Remington sport, heavy and light target loads.

They manage to keep their prices down by minimizing the labor involved in production. Things like polishing parts and fine finishes are simply not done. They use CNC machines for metal and injection molding for the plastic parts.
