Woodley lost the fight in the sixth round by a brutal knockout from Paul that left the former UFC champion unconscious in the ring. Even before the knockout, Woodley was trailing Paul in the match regarding the number of punches the fighters had landed on each other.

Paul Paul beat Woodley in the first fight via split decision on Aug. 29 in Paul's hometown of Cleveland. Saturday's bout had a clause that if Woodley knocked out his foe he would win an extra $500,000. But Paul was the one with the spectacular stoppage victory.

Tyron Woodley has strongly denied claims that he was paid to take a 'dive' in his rematch with. Four months after losing to Paul by split decision, Woodley lost the rematch in Tampa when Paul delievered a vicious sixth-round knockout that left the former.

Despite an ailing shoulder, Woodley says he still tried to put Paul away but he just wasn't able to mix together enough punches to take advantage of the situation after landing the near knockdown.
