Frequently Asked Questions about tudor heritage ranger tv spot, 'mushing'

The TUDOR Ranger was launched to mark 70 years since the British North Greenland Expedition – yet the Ranger's DNA dates back to long before the expedition. In fact, the manufacture's founder, Hans Wilsdorf, first registered the name Ranger in 1929 – only three years after the brand became a registered trademark.

This new Ranger was made to continue the Tudor watch collection. It's the brand's dedicated adventure and field watch that stands on its own. Thus, it can be compared to the Rolex Explorer, as the two are similar, maybe because Rolex owns Tudor, but the Tudor Ranger has its own personality.

The Tudor Ranger has since been discontinued, but today it's back with multiple evolutions, making it a far stronger offering. 39mm in size, equipped with a chronometer movement and some tricks under its sleeve, here's the new 2022 Tudor Ranger 79950.

Now, the new movement brings with it COSC certification (-4/+6 seconds per day), even though Tudor claims it is capable of even better than this. This is achieved by its variable inertia balance wheel and free-sprung silicon hairspring, which also makes it anti-magnetic.

The 39mm Tudor Ranger on a bracelet is attractively priced at $3,150 and offers up a whole lot of watch when you factor in the brand quality, model heritage, a T-Fit equipped steel bracelet and an in-house movement built-in with 70 hours of power reserve, silicon balance spring and a COSC certification.

When it comes to luxury watches, the Tudor brand has been making waves in the industry for years. Established in 1926, Tudor was founded by none other than Hans Wilsdorf, the same man who created the iconic Rolex brand. Tudor watches are known for their precision, durability, and timeless aesthetics.

Both brands produce rugged watches. All Tudor watches, including their dress models, feature a water resistance of 100m or more. Rolex watches also feature high water resistance, however, the Cellini dress line only features a resistance of 50m.

The movement is also a COSC-certified chronometer, and Tudor has regulated it to be accurate to within -2 and +4 seconds per day.

There are two things I would say Tudor does better than Rolex. 1) Bezel action-Tudor's is simply cleaner with less play and more crisp. 2) No-date movement- You have 70 hour power reserve vs Rolex's 48. Nowadays, Tudor has largely separated itself from the Rolex brand.

Yes, Tudor watches have always been just as good as Rolex. While the brands will always be unique in design, the differences between the two are shrinking every year as Tudor continues to grow. Tudor was never designed to compete with Rolex, instead, it was to offer collectors a more affordable option.

Omega is well known for its reliability and accuracy. The Speedmaster has a very similar look in the mini dial and date placement as the Tudor Chronograph. The Tudor has a sportier look but lacks the tachymetric scale around the bezel.
