Targeted radiation therapy and PSMA This new compound can potentially find, bind to, and kill prostate cancer cells throughout the body. In a recent clinical trial, men with a type of advanced prostate cancer who received a PSMA-targeting drug lived longer than those who received standard therapies.

Such treatments include surgery and radiation therapy. For early-stage prostate cancer, local treatments may get rid of the cancer completely. If the cancer has spread outside the prostate gland, other types of treatment (such as medications) may be needed to destroy cancer cells located in other parts of the body.

Enzalutamide works by blocking hormones from fueling cancer cell growth. The approval, announced on June 20, makes talazoparib the third PARP-blocking drug to be cleared by the agency to treat prostate cancer.

What the study showed. Results from the still-unpublished study were presented at the 2023 American Society of Oncology Annual Meeting in June. After a median follow-up of roughly 17 months, the enzalutamide/talazoparib combination reduced the risk of death or visible signs of tumor progression by 55%.

Radiation therapy is a good choice for many men with early-stage prostate cancer. It is also the best treatment for older men or those who have other health problems.

Cayenne Pepper "Some lab studies have shown that capsaicin is toxic to cancer cells." One study by researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine, found capsaicin stifled the growth of prostate cancer cells, and even had the power to kill them off.

There is no particular food or recipe that can directly kill prostate cancer cells. Finland scores consistently highly for treating myriad cancer types, including prostate, breast and adult brain cancers, and has a very high 5-year survival rate. Finnish cancer research is also the most cited in the world, averaging 26.4 citations per paper (in comparison to England's 17).

"Cancer-fighting foods" The list is usually topped with berries, broccoli, tomatoes, walnuts, grapes and other vegetables, fruits and nuts. "If you look at the typical foods that reduce cancer risk, it's pretty much all plant foods that contain phytochemicals," says Wohlford.
