“When we opened in Gatlinburg, our focus was on helping people have a good time when on vacation,” said Sugarlands founder and owner Ned Vickers. “That's a pretty easy thing to do in the moonshine business.”

Since 2014, Sugarlands Shine has been producing authentic award-winning moonshine from the great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Our original recipe moonshines come in many assorted flavors, some of which feature partnerships with cast members from Discovery's wildly popular, “Moonshiners,” television show.

Everything from Sugarlands is small batch and pot distilled a minimum of six times. The moonshine is made from Silver Cloud, fresh Tennessee white corn and cane sugar. The pot still allows Sugarland to produce a great spirit with the perfect balance between being too thin or too heavy.

Sugarlands Distilling Company opened its doors to the public in March 2014 and is currently rolling out its seven varieties of moonshine across the Southeast, with plans to be in every state by mid-2015.

As a young man, he was introduced to a local moonshine legend in Cocke County, Tenn. After putting in his time as a still hand, Digger, along with his distilling partner Mark Ramsey, has mastered the craft of distillation. He is now a legend in his own right.
