Here are the days we expect to have the lowest crowd levels at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023:

• Tuesdays through Thursdays for the second half of September and the second half of October.
• Mondays through Thursdays in November (minus the week of Thanksgiving)
• Mondays through Thursdays during the first half of December.

You'll need at least one entire day to visit Universal in order to make the most of your experience. Consult Universal's website and social media channels before visiting to see what's new and happening at the park during your visit. Studio tours are available in English, Spanish, and Mandarin for your convenience.

Two days is good. Stay at a universal resort so you get the express passes and early entry. If you come in the fall you can also do horror nights in the evenings.

While any day you can head to Universal Studios Hollywood is a great day, some days are better than others! You'll find the waits are lowest in the fall, winter and spring. Avoid the days around the holidays and times when children are out of school. Weekdays are often less crowded than weekends.

When is Universal Orlando Most Crowded?

• Presidents' Day week (third week in February)
• Spring Break period from mid-March through late April.
• Memorial Day weekend.
• Summer (mid-June through Labor Day)
• Thanksgiving week (including the weekends)
• Christmas week through January 1.

Quick Summary of Universal Studios Hollywood one day itinerary:

1. Morning: Do the most popular rides – Mario Kart, Harry Potter, Studio tour.
2. Afternoon: Lower Lot Rides – Jurrasic World, Transformers, Revenge of the Mummy.
3. Evening: Upper Lot Rides – Simpsons, Minions, Kung Fu Panda, Secret Life of Pets, Waterworld Show.

While it is possible to experience the highlights of Disney Hollywood Studios in a single day, let's face it – two days is better! With two days at your disposal, there is no need to rush everywhere, and worry that you'll miss the park's signature evening show.

To that point, we do not recommend only a half-day at DHS if you're a first-timer. Although there are a number of time-consuming stage shows without much repeatability, we usually do an entire day at Disney's Hollywood Studios even as WDW diehards. DHS is most definitely a full-day park, just to be clear.

Being a movie-making geek, Universal Studios Hollywood is an entertainment mecca for me. From blockbuster, thrill rides to shows that light up the night, there's something for everyone, and I would recommend going. Just make sure to do some research and plan your trip, especially if it's as packed as it was for us!

When is Universal Orlando Most Crowded?

If you do end up visiting during peak seasons or on holidays (when the parks are open late), consider waiting until late afternoon and staying until closing time -- after the dinner hour the parks are generally much less crowded.

Universal Studios Hollywood can physically be completed in a day, but there's a lot of detail in many of the attractions that mean you might want to do some more than once.
