Special 50th anniversary scenes featured a towering castle and swirling pixie dust were part of the Electrical Water Pageant, along with a version of the celebration anthem song, “The Magic is Calling” bookending the full traditional show as it sailed nightly across Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.

OCTOBER 1, 2021 - APRIL 1, 2023 Fifty years ago, the Walt Disney World Resort, born of impossible dreams, opened its gates. And beginning October 1, 2021, the magic is calling everyone to The World's Most Magical Celebration – the 50th Anniversary at Walt Disney World Resort.

Though the brand's official anniversary is October 16, the company has been amidst a year-long celebration that kicked off with a commercial on this year' Super Bowl. The celebration has also included the return of favorite rides, merchandise and the introduction of special food options at its theme parks.

During this centennial celebration, Disney will have special activations, tie-ins, and moments that will highlight what has made this company so special to so many over the last 100 years.

Unlike the 50th, which honored the day the Walt Disney World Resort (including Magic Kingdom) opened on October 1, 1971, the 100th celebrates The Walt Disney Company, which was founded on October 16, 1923.
