Gearing up for what promises to be an unforgettable holiday season, Pentatonix share the details for their anxiously awaited 2023 North American Christmas tour, In tandem with the tour, Pentatonix will unveil their 12th overall full-length and seventh holiday album, The Greatest Christmas Hits, this fall.

“A Pentatonix Christmas Special" celebrated the holiday season with a one-hour television event where viewers enjoyed the Grammy Award-winning musical phenomenon Pentatonix performing an array of classic holiday tracks as well as modern favorites.

The five members of Pentatonix–Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola, Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi and Avi Kaplan–became the first a cappella act to make it to our 30 Under 30 list, but it hasn't been an easy road. After winning The Sing-Off in 2011, the group got a $200,000 record deal–and was quickly dropped.

Their pitch, tone, timing, and overall musicality are outstanding. Whenever I listen to Pentatonix, I get the sense that their technique is so polished and ingrained that I never hear them struggling, or as I sometimes describe it, “singers trying to sing” - I just hear beautiful, skillful performances.

Starting Nov. 14 and running up until Dec. 21, the famed a cappella group will hit venues all over North America in support of their upcoming record 'The Greatest Christmas Hits' which will 23 holiday favorites along with eight new songs.

Scott Hoying suggested the name Pentatonix after the pentatonic scale which includes five notes per octave representing the five members of the group.

In a video announcing his departure, he stated that although he loved being in the group, it was difficult for him to keep up with the group's demanding schedule, which required him to spend less time with his family.
