Russell Stover Chocolates, Inc. is an American manufacturer of candy, chocolate, and confections. Founded by Russell Stover, an American chemist and entrepreneur, and his wife Clara Stover in 1923, it is an independent subsidiary of Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli.

Our factories located in Kansas and Missouri, Texas, and Colorado employ generations of candy makers and box builders who take pride in making chocolates for our neighbors near and far. We source some of our ingredients at home in the United States, while others are sourced globally.

Russell Stover: Keeping America Happy with Chocolate Tradition. Russell Stover is one of the most famous chocolate manufacturer in the US. In 2014, Lindt & Sprüngli acquired the company and strengthened its position in the North American market.

The idea of candy began by the caveman who ate honey. The first candy was used by the Ancient Egyptians for cult purposes. In ancient times, Egyptians, Arabs, and Chinese made candies with fruits and nuts that caramelized with honey. The two oldest candy types are licorice and ginger.

The Russell Stover story began in 1923 in Denver, Colorado, when Russell and Clara Stover started a candy business at their home. Shortly after, they began manufacturing high quality pralines – the ideal chocolate gift for special occasions.

Based upon true events, Love & Death tells the story of Candy Montgomery (Elizabeth Olsen), a churchgoing mother who commits a heinous crime against her friend, Betty Gore (Lily Rabe). Even though they're found all over the country, the candies are created in each factory's "Candy Kitchen," where the company's sweets specialists create the candy centers from scratch. From there, the centers are shaped by machines and enrobed - via a chocolate waterfall - in chocolate.
