Verizon offers two types of 5G service: 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G. 5G Ultra Wideband is Verizon's highest performing 5G. Our 5G Ultra Wideband network uses high band (mmWave) and mid-band (C-band) spectrum to deliver a top-of-the-line 5G experience.

Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband service is now available in parts of Des Moines, Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, Sioux Falls, Dallas, Omaha, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Providence, St. Paul, Atlanta, Detroit, Indianapolis, Washington DC, Phoenix, Boise, Panama City, and New York City.

This means that 5G ultra wideband is much more responsive than 5G, making it ideal for applications that require real-time communication, such as online gaming and video conferencing. For example, a 5G ultra wideband connection would be ideal for playing online games with friends, as there would be very little lag.

UWB stands for Ultra Wide Band and is used as a short-range wireless communication protocol to track the location of objects within less than half an inch distance. The technology measures how long it takes short radio pulses to travel between one device and another.

Range: 5G UWB has a much shorter range than other types of 5G, like sub-6 GHz and mmWave. UWB signals can only travel a few meters, while other types of 5G can cover several kilometers.

1.3 Ultra-Wideband (UWB) provides an interesting new technology for short- range ultra-high speed communications in the frequency band 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. It supports a bit rate greater than 100 Mbps within a 10-meter radius for wireless personal area communications.

A great example of UWB can be digital keys like car keys or door keys, We can open a car or gate by using a key within a distance which is a great advantage. Data transfer using UWB has so many advantages because the rate of transferring the data is high for short-range devices.
