Woody In the films, Woody is the main protagonist, alongside Buzz Lightyear. He is primarily voiced by Tom Hanks, who voices him in the Toy Story films, short films, and TV specials.

Andy Davis (voiced by John Morris in all four films, Charlie Bright in Toy Story 3 and Jack McGraw in Toy Story 4) is the overarching protagonist of the Toy Story franchise and the original owner of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the other toys in the first three films.

Woody (Tom Hanks), a good-hearted cowboy doll who belongs to a young boy named Andy (John Morris), sees his position as Andy's favorite toy jeopardized when his parents buy him a Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) action figure. Though many of the gang were made up for the movie (like our 2 main friends, Woody and Buzz), a lot of Andy's toys are replicas or inspired by toys that exist or once existed in real life. Toy Story is based in its present time, 1995, so many of Andy's toys pre-date the movie.
