Plot. The Game takes place in Leydia, a region of an alien medieval planet. At the start of the fame, The Protagonist dies and makes a deal with Death that, if he roams about the world and kills off immortals, he himself will become immortal.

The Protagonist is the only playable character in Death's Gambit. After being killed, Death revives him and decides to make a deal with him: If he kills all of the Immortals, he himselft will become immortal. That is the reason of his quest that he and his allies are trying to achieve.

You will need at least 1 GB of free disk space to install Death's Gambit: Afterlife. The minimum memory requirement for Death's Gambit: Afterlife is 2 GB of RAM installed in your computer.

Death's Gambit: Afterlife is the expanded and upgraded version of the original game with tons of new content and gameplay overhauls heavily based on player feedback, generously free to owners of the original game on PC, also making its debut on the Nintendo Switch.

In theory, usually, gambits are not worth it. Most gambits have well-understood lines where black can either give back the pawn and equalize, or keep the pawn and have a playable position. The only exception I can think of is the Queen's Gambit, which really is not a gambit at all.

White Rabbit Death's Gambit was developed by independent studio White Rabbit. The primary inspiration for the gameplay of Death's Gambit was Metroidvania games. The development team also wanted to integrate systems from games and series they enjoyed playing such as Castlevania, Dark Souls, and Shadow of the Colossus.

Still the game is worth picking up if you are a fan of this genre as it is most definitely a quality experience and the afterlife update and dlc does even more to refine and tighten the experience, even if the newly introduced story elements miss the mark and dilute the impact of the original games ending.
