If you aren't sure if you want to commit to a pessary or have a mild prolapse there is an off the shelf product we often will recommend for patients – Poise Impressa. Although this is marketed as an incontinence device due to its shape and materials, it acts very much like a pessary. This works best for mild prolapses.

12 hours The Poise Impressa can be worn for 12 hours at a time, day or night. However, it should not be worn during one's menstrual cycle. After 12 hours of use, the Impressa should be removed and thrown away; it is NOT reusable.

In clinical research, women have reported some temporary side effects, including temporary discomfort, vaginal spotting, and vaginal soreness when using Poise Impressa Bladder Supports. These side effects should be temporary and should not last longer than 14 days.

Potential side effects: mild vaginal discomfort or irritation, mild vaginal spotting or bleeding, increased vaginal discharge, inability to urinate or to fully empty the bladder (remove Revive® bladder support if this occurs).

Since the pelvic floor supports the bladder, strengthening it helps to improve prolapse. Kegel exercises are most effective in tightening the pelvic floor. Not only that, but they can be done at home or anywhere. To perform the exercise, make sure your bladder is empty and squeeze your pelvic muscles.

Some ladies call it a "bladder tampon" because it looks like a tampon, but it's actually a bladder support. Tampons are absorbent. Poise® Impressa® is not. It doesn't absorb leaks.

Temporary discomfort is very common, especially while trying to find your right size. It may even continue after you've found your right size, or if you only use Poise® IMPRESSA® occasionally. You may also experience discomfort during insertion and/or removal.

Pumpkin seed extract is a popular natural treatment for OAB. A recent study suggests that pumpkin seed oil may be able to treat or prevent symptoms of OAB and other urinary disorders. Researchers are looking into pumpkin seed oil more. There may be more studies on pumpkin seed oil and OAB in the future.

A prolapsed bladder is rarely a life-threatening condition. Most cases that are mild can be treated without surgery, and most severe prolapsed bladders can be completely corrected with surgery.
