Alka-Seltzer Plus Severe Cold and Flu is a combination of four medications: acetaminophen (an analgesic), chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant), and phenylephrine (a decongestant). It's used to treat symptoms from the common cold or flu and is available over the counter.

Directions. adults and children 12 years and over: take 2 tablets fully dissolved in 4 oz of water every 4 hours. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours or as directed by a doctor.
