Frequently Asked Questions about salonpas tv spot, 'clinical trial evidence'

Salonpas is an adhesive patch approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to provide relief for mild to moderate pain due to arthritis and other causes. It contains a variety of topical medications for treating inflammation.

Stop using Salonpas Pain Patch and call your doctor at once if you have: redness or swelling of the treated area; increased pain; or. severe burning or skin irritation such as a rash, itching, pain, or blistering.

Salonpas patches are only suitable for adults aged 18 years and over. Don't use them if you're allergic to aspirin or ibuprofen, if you have a stomach ulcer, bleeding in your gut or other bleeding problem, if you have severe heart, kidney or liver failure, or if you're pregnant or trying for a baby.

Salonpas® - Powerful pain relief patch The active ingredients in Salonpas are methyl salicylate, menthol and tocopherol acetate (vitamin E), and camphor. The active ingredients are the extract of natural substances originally derived from plants.

Warnings and Precautions. Even though Salonpas does not require a prescription, it's not entirely safe for everyone. It is very important to read the label before using the product and have a conversation with your healthcare provider. Your medical history may indicate that these patches are not appropriate for you.

Salonpas may be a good alternative if you have arthritis and need to treat inflammation, but you cannot tolerate oral medications or had an inadequate response with its use. Salonpas, like any medication, is associated with potential side effects, but they appear to be fewer than with oral NSAIDs.

Infections that have been reported during capsaicin patch use in postherpetic neuralgia include bronchitis (2%), naso-pharyngitis (4%), and sinusitis (3%). Use of capsaicin 8% topical patch is associated with a transient increase in blood pressure related to treatment-induced increases in pain.

Stomach bleeding: Because Salonpas contains a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID), methyl salicylate, there is a risk of stomach bleeding. This risk may be higher for people over 60 as well as those who have a history of bleeding problems or take blood thinners or corticosteroids.

There have been no reports of decrease/increase in blood pressure from using Salonpas®. If you have low or high blood pressure, please consult a doctor before using Salonpas® products.

The patches contain two active ingredients, methyl salicylate and levomenthol. These medicines are absorbed slowly into the skin from the patch. Methyl salicylate is metabolised into salicylic acid, which has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps to reduce any inflammation in the muscles or joints.

How It Works. As a topical analgesic, Salonpas should only be used externally. The patch is transdermal, meaning that after the backing is removed, the patch is applied over the painful area, and the medication is then absorbed through the skin.

Get medical help right away if you have any very serious side effects, including: pale/bluish/gray skin, unusual tiredness, shortness of breath, fast heartbeat. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare.
