1987 Debuting in 1987 as a five-part miniseries and becoming a regular Saturday-morning syndicated series on October 1, 1988, the first animated series follows the adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their allies as they battle the Shredder, Krang, and numerous other villains and criminals in New York City.

Raphael For the TV show, TMNT creator Peter Laird decided to give each Turtle a different color to make it easier to tell them apart: Leonardo has a blue bandana, Raphael a red bandana, Donatello a purple bandana and Michelangelo an orange bandana.

Profanity (6) Like any other Nickelodeon show, characters use name-calling insults like "stupid", "idiot," "loser," "jerk", "shut up," "heck", "freak", etc. Like the 2003 series, words like "heck" and "shell" are used in place of the word "hell" such as "shellbrain", and "shellraiser".

Michelangelo This happens in the episode (Fathers and Sons). Michelangelo is the youngest brother, also appointed to be "the one with the brightest fire" or with the most potential by The Ancient One. Master Splinter also claims a few times that Michelangelo obtains the most "raw talent" of all the brothers.

Venus That honor goes to Venus, TV's first (and still only) female Ninja Turtle. Unlike her male counterparts - Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo, all of whom were named after noteworthy Renaissance artists - Venus got her name from the famously arm-less Greek statue depicting the goddess Aphrodite.

Michelangelo As their names would suggest, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are incredibly dangerous fighters, and Michelangelo – the famed Last Ronin – ultimately becomes the most dangerous of them all.
