November Recognizing Service Members Throughout November As the Official Military Platform of the Washington Commanders, Washington salute is committed to maintaining a prominent tradition of honoring and recognizing service members, senior military leadership, and military performance groups during its Salute to Service Month.

The Salute to Service Award The Salute to Service Award presented by USAA acknowledges the exceptional efforts by members of the NFL community to honor and support U.S. service members, veterans, and their families.

The NFL is continuing to show their support for the United States military with their 2023 line of Salute to Service gear. Every team in the league will begin wearing their annual Salute to Service hoodies, shirts, hats and more, but with a new twist.

Since 2011, the NFL and USAA, an Official NFL Salute to Service Partner, have worked together to honor and appreciate active-duty military, veterans and their families by creating unique opportunities that bring the military community and the NFL closer together.

The Medal of Honor The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest medal for valor in combat that can be awarded to members of the armed forces.

Qualifications. In order for a player to be eligible for a Veteran Salary Benefit contract, they must have at least four credited NFL seasons. These contracts are only for one season but players can sign these contracts every season if they choose.
