So, to get into a German taught program, I will have to reach German C1. I will have around 6-8 months to do so. Immersion will help you and will be essential moving forward, but you won't be able to get to C1 in half a year in German unless you're really gifted in language learning and have amazing resources ...

If you complete one lesson per day, every day, you can expect to start speaking German at an intermediate level of fluency within 4 to 6 months.
