Will Tracy is the co-writer of The Menu and he said he was inspired by his honeymoon to Norway a few years ago. On his honeymoon he took a boat trip out to a restaurant on a private island. His wife Tracy is “a bit claustrophobic” and she apparently began picturing all of the things that could go wrong.
