Carnauba wax does a better job of bringing out color and maximizing shine, especially on vintage paint jobs. Synthetic waxes bond to the clear coat for longer-lasting protection. Both natural and synthetic waxes can come in paste form, the oldest form of vehicle wax.

It actually uses an older type of Brazilian carnauba to create a lustrous shine. And that's why they've always called carnauba paste wax the queen of waxes. It actually uses a harder carnuba.

If you leave the wax on the car for too long it becomes hard and very difficult to remove. It won't hurt your car's paint but it will make removing the wax very labor intensive and difficult. It's best to start with one section of the vehicle then move on to the next.

You'll get at least 3-4 months with a paste wax like Meguiar's. Slightly less in the hotter seasons. Frequent washing (especially with a degreaser based soap) will reduce the life.
