The Call of the Wild (2020 film)

The most well known and commercially successful films and film series from 20th Century Studios include the first six Star Wars films, Titanic, Avatar, Ice Age, Rio, X-Men, Die Hard, Alien, Planet of the Apes, Deadpool, Predator, Independence Day, Anastasia, Love, Simon and Home Alone.

The name dates to 1915, when William Fox, a Hungarian immigrant, left the fur and garment industry to start a motion picture company. The 1929 stock market crash, among other misfortunes, forced the Fox Film Corporation to merge with a competitor, Twentieth Century Pictures, to form 20th Century Fox in 1935.

Buck begins as a pampered pet dog who is then forced to adapt to survive in the wilderness of Canada. He becomes more and more individualistic as he adapts: at first he submits to “the law of club and fang,” doing all he can to avoid beatings and fights, but, as time progresses, he becomes more self-concerned.

The story opens at a ranch in Santa Clara Valley, California, when Buck is stolen from his home and sold into service as a sled dog in Alaska. He becomes progressively more primitive and wild in the harsh environment, where he is forced to fight to survive and dominate other dogs.

Alfred Newman The 20th Century fanfare was originally composed in 1933 by Alfred Newman, who became the head of Fox's music department from 1940 until the 1960s. It was re-recorded in 1935 when 20th Century Fox was officially established. In 1953, Newman wrote the "CinemaScope extension" for the fanfare.
