Frequently Asked Questions about federal premium ammunition berger hybrid hunter
Berger is best known for its long-range bullets, and the new Hybrid Hunter combines a low-drag, high-ballistic-coefficient, secant-forward ogive with the tangent ogive of traditional hunting bullets.
The Berger Hybrid design incorporates two different shapes within the nose. As the bearing surface ends, a tangent ogive begins. This tangent section of the ogive results in the bullet being much less sensitive to seating depth. Testing results show that the Berger Hybrid shoot equally well at either a jam or a jump.
This unique construction enables hunters to experience Berger's world-renowned target-grade accuracy out of a magazine fed or factory rifle. Our Classic Hybrid Hunter bullets also incorporate a slightly thinner J4 Precision hunting jacket, which allows the projectile to penetrate 2″ to 3″ before rapidly expanding.

VARMINT BULLETS
The J4 Precision Jacket is thinner at the nose. These jackets are cut to size by a process known as pinch trimming. This pinch trim produces a bullet tip that is very thin and will expand quickly (impact velocity and animal size will effect expansion results).
It is accurate and deadly. For all their accuracy and expansion, Berger Hunting VLDs do not create more meat damage. Berger Hunting VLDs perform effectively at 1,800 feet per second impact velocity or even faster. They will still expand even when the impact is as low as 1,500 fps.
However, Match bullets are designed with a thinner jacket and are typically not bonded to the core. They often fragment on target impact. Thus the match bullet will “come apart”, lose mass and have limited penetration in the gel while the hunting bullet will retain its mass and penetrate further into the gel.

Is Federal A Good Brand For Ammo? Yes, Federal is a good brand for ammo. Countless shooting enthusiasts and hunters across the U.S. trust their rounds. I've hunted everything from ducks, doves, rabbits, squirrels, and deer with Federal ammo, and rarely have I been disappointed.
A combination weapon is a close-quarters gun hybrid combining the features of both a firearm and an edged melee weapon. Examples of gun hybrids include knife/pistols and pistol/sword combinations.
And the jacket are done through our bullet dies. We can achieve a consistency that is unmatched. And a weight variation of less than two-tenths of a grain per box the last step of the manufacturing.
The bullets can still be effective at slower speeds but as they slow down, the resulting wound channels will begin to reduce as well. For shot placement, I prefer to tuck the bullets right behind the shoulder similar to that of an archery shot. Some hunters like the “high shoulder shot” which is also very effective.
More long range hunters consider Berger the best hunting bullet on the market because of the tight groups they can achieve and the reliable expansion on game.
Bonded. Pros: Effective at virtually any reasonable hunting distance, bonded bullets offer the expansion and energy transfer of lead-core bullets combined with the durability of monolithic bullets. They hold together even at high velocities and through bone.
MatchKing is Sierra's line of competition bullets. They have a design that gives a high ballistic coefficient and good accuracy.
