If applied correctly, Water Seal will last up to 4 years. This is dependent on conditions such as orientation of the wall and local climate.

Silicone o-rings are very much a gasket/sealant industry standard today. Silicone rubber compounds typically offer very good resistance to ozone, acids, water, and decent resistance to weathering and heat, making them great for outdoor applications.

Applying a breathable, water-resistant coating to a porous surface usually involves silicon-based materials. The most common varieties include siloxane, silane, and silicone rubber, which are appealing due to their effectiveness in penetrating substrates without compromising porousness.

Thompson's® WaterSeal® Wood Sealers can be applied to damp wood, so you only have to wait about two hours to begin applying stain. Some of our other products require that the wood dry for 48 hours before applying a deck coating.

Making sure to plan the route for your exit. The application is quick and effortless with the use of a paint pad brush sprayer or roller to apply your product. Apply the coating vertically.

Only one coat of Thompson's® WaterSeal® Wood Sealer is necessary. A second coat can be added if more color is desired. Allow the first coat to dry approximately 2 hours. Second coat must be applied within 4 hours of initial application.

On new pressure treated lumber, please allow 30 days before applying Thompson's WaterSeal Wood Sealers. Always perform the splash test before sealing wood. If water absorbs within 5 seconds after you've sprinkled it on the surface, the wood is porous and considered ready to be sealed.
