Din Grogu (/ˈɡroʊɡu/), colloquially referred to as Baby Yoda, is a fictional character from the Star Wars Disney+ original television series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Luke Skywalker, an iconic figure in the galaxy and one of the few remaining Jedi, meets with The Mandalorian and offers to take Baby Yoda under his wing and train him as a Jedi. Initially hesitant, he eventually agrees to let Baby Yoda go with Luke, hoping for his safety and happiness.

George Lucas has been famously cryptic about Yoda's species and we have seen only a few similar beings over the course of the franchise. But the most simple explanation for Baby Yoda is that the tot simply shares the Jedi Master's species and his abilities in the Force.

Here's what we do know about Baby Yoda: He's almost unbearably cute, he can walk but spends most of his time in an egg-cradle, he naps a lot, he has put two frogs (as of this writing) in his mouth but never eats them, and he has at least enough control of the Force to briefly levitate a Mudhorn.

Grogu What is Baby Yoda's name? Baby Yoda's name is Grogu. His name was not revealed until Season 2 Episode 5, "Chapter 13: The Jedi." Prior to then, Grogu was referred to by several names in the show.

The gimer stick Purpose. The gimer stick was a wooden cane used by Grand Master Yoda during the last decades of the Galactic Republic, and up until his death shortly before the Battle of Endor. The stick was made from the gimer bush, which grew on many worlds including Kashyyyk and Dagobah.

Carried in his left Mandalorian vambrace, Djarin carries the deadly whistling bird weapons. Whistling Birds are small guided projectiles made of beskar, making them extremely deadly against groups of assailants. Given the rarity of beskar, The Armorer advised Din Djarin to use Whistling Birds sparingly.
