Pantelion Films is a movie production company that targets Latino audiences in the United States and Latin America. One of their recent offerings was the 2017 romantic comedy, "How to Be a Latin Lover."
The film tells the story of Maximo (Eugenio Derbez), a gigolo who has been living off of wealthy older women for most of his life. However, when his current sugar mama dumps him, he is forced to move in with his estranged sister, Sara (Salma Hayek), and her young son, Hugo (Raphael Alejandro).
As Maximo navigates this new life of responsibility and family, he develops a newfound appreciation for the value of genuine relationships. Along the way, he also reconnects with a former flame, Celeste (Raquel Welch), and attempts to come to terms with his own mortality.
"How to Be a Latin Lover" was directed by Ken Marino and also featured notable performances from Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell, and Rob Riggle. The film received mixed reviews, but its strong box office performance solidified Pantelion Films' commitment to producing culturally relevant and entertaining content for Latino audiences.
