The Z06 designation included a revised rear end, a larger gas tank, more powerful motor, suspension tuning, and stronger brakes so that Corvette owners and enthusiasts could race their sports cars and represent Chevrolet in an informal sense.

The upcoming 2023 Chevy Corvette ZO6 gains a unique engine that sounds familiar to the supercars that it's trying to surpass. This machine will use a 5.5-liter V8 engine to power its wheel, and the engine will generate a whopping 670 horsepower.

The breakdown for yesterday's Z06 production was 52 regular models and 11 70th Anniversary Editions. For the year, 1,329 regular Z06s have been produced as have 216 70th Anniverary models for a total of 1,545 Z06s. The plant will be closed this Friday and Monday for the Easter holiday.

The Z06 is 3.5 inches wider than the Stingray, has an 8500 rpm redline, and offers optional carbon-fiber wheels fitted to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R ZP race rubber that measures more than 13.5 inches wide at the rear.

If Stingray is a comfortable bruiser and Z51 is a sharpened all-rounder, Z06 spec makes the Corvette legitimately track-ready. It brings grippier tires, stiffer suspension, further cooling for the engine and brakes, downforce-generating aero, and stronger stoppers all around.

And aerodynamics z07 brings a lot to the z06. You get a michelin pilot sport cup tire. That's got lower tread void. Area an awesome compound brings you really close to a race tire.

The Z06 quickly moved ahead of the Stingray when the race got underway, displaying the Z06's additional horsepower, larger tires, more powerful brakes, and significant aerodynamics. The Stingray was only able to keep up with the Z06 for approximately 50 feet before the latter's better numbers on paper became obvious.

The supplier setbacks deteriorated even further, and that following September, GM said it would no longer be accepting Corvette Z06 orders for the remainder of the 2023 model year.

For the Z06 models, it shows only 10% of C8 Corvettes will be Z06s and that this is a Plant Restriction. Based on total Corvette production, only 3% will be Z06 Aero Cars (big wing T0G/T0F), which is 30% of Z06 production.

The base model goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and hits 100 mph in 9.0 seconds. The Z06 needs just 3.6 and 8.3 seconds for the same tasks, while the ZR1 hits 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and 100 mph in a stellar 7.6 seconds. That 100-mph time betters the likes of the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911 Turbo, and Ferrari F430.
