Each Hairdorable doll is made of plastic vinyl and approximately five inches tall from top of head to base of feet, not including hairstyles. The anatomy dimensions take influence from the Japanese chibi art style or super-deformed; the head makes up 2/5ths of the dolls' overall size.

Each doll includes one color-change accessory that, when placed in icy-cold water or subjected to cold temperatures, will change colors via thermochromatic means.

Hairmazing is a fashion-doll side line of the Hairdorables characters. Unlike other sublines which have unique characters and may reference the main characters, the characters used are the same as the main characters.

Doll Hair is generally a synthetic hair made out of plastics and glued or knotted into holes on the doll's head. The doll manufacturers generally refer to this as 'rooted' hair.

1810 The first manufactured paper doll was “Little Fanny”, produced by S&J Fuller, London, in 1810. In Europe, particularly France, the first paper dolls were popular since the mid-18th century.

1992 Totally Hair™ Barbie® was released in 1992! The doll's extra-long hair reached all the way to her toes and at the time, she had the longest hair ever for a Barbie doll. She is historical and iconic for being the highest selling Barbie doll in history!

Nylon hair is one of the easiest types of hair to work with and comes in a wide range of colors. Kiwi Hair– Kiwi is a newer product that came out in 2013. Most doll and toy companies are switching over to this type of hair. It is superior to Nylon and Saran, has longer durability and fades less over time.

Hair color is produced by cells called melanocytes which is the root of the hair follicle. Melanocyte produces melanin pigments to give color. Changes in color can be from hormones, nutrition, temperature, or various external factors.

Hair color changes result not only from alterations of melanin production but also from changes in the hair structure itself, altering its optical properties. A variety of genetic, metabolic, nutritional, and acquired disorders result in hair color changes.
