Russell Stover Chocolates, Inc. is an American manufacturer of candy, chocolate, and confections. Founded by Russell Stover, an American chemist and entrepreneur, and his wife Clara Stover in 1923, it is an independent subsidiary of Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli.

Our factories located in Kansas and Missouri, Texas, and Colorado employ generations of candy makers and box builders who take pride in making chocolates for our neighbors near and far. We source some of our ingredients at home in the United States, while others are sourced globally.

The American chocolate tradition of making someone happy The Russell Stover story began in 1923 in Denver, Colorado, when Russell and Clara Stover started a candy business at their home. Shortly after, they began manufacturing high quality pralines – the ideal chocolate gift for special occasions.

He was a candy maker when he began to sell Eskimo Pies, which were a big success. He sold out his company and opened another one which eventually became "Russell Stover Candies." Russell Stover was headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, and Stover lived in nearby Mission Hills, Kansas.
