HB Studios PGA Tour 2K23 is a sports video game developed by HB Studios and published by 2K for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It is the fifth installment of the PGA Tour 2K series and first game in the series to feature the Top of the Rock golf course as bonus content.

Odd as it sounds, PGA Tour is really a game about shot selection and course management; the execution is a little too baked in. While 2K23 is a more straightforward experience with fewer options and less in the way of creativity, it will allow you to blow the ball off the planet with a poor swing.

Casual Matchmaking offers six playlists to choose from, including Head-to-Head (1v1), Teams (2v2), Wagers (2-4 players), Quick Match (3 holes, 2-4 players), Divot Derby, or High Rollers (3 holes, skins, 1v1) options.

The biggest addition to PGA Tour 2K23 is that they were able to get the likeness of far more professional players, still not all of them, but a decent chunk are present now. The biggest change is that unlike the last entry, you'll now be able to play as the professionals instead of just play against them.

There are several ways to earn VC, including completing challenges in MyCAREER, placing wagers in online matchmaking games, or selling Fittings that you may not want. However, players are also able to spend real money on VC, should they wish to accumulate the in-game currency at an accelerated rate.

I've missed having a good golf sim and PGA Tour 2K23 is indeed a good golf sim, part of me would have like a skip button as well/instead of the speed up button so that you could get straight to your next shot rather than having to watch your shot from start to finish… but that's nit picking and not essential.

The most succinct way to summarize a comparison between the available courses in the two golf games is to say that PGA Tour 2K23 has more courses, however the courses in EA Sports PGA Tour are better.
