What is Leatherman Skeletool?
The Leatherman Skeletool is a multi-tool that is compact, lightweight, and versatile. It's been praised for its design, which streamlines everything down to the essentials while still allowing for a variety of functions.
One of the standout features of the Leatherman Skeletool is its blade, which is made from 420HC stainless steel and is partially serrated for extra versatility. The blade is easy to access with one hand, thanks to its thumb hole opening, and has a locking mechanism to keep it securely in place.
In addition to the blade, the Leatherman Skeletool includes a number of other tools, including pliers, wire cutters, a wire stripper, a carabiner clip, and a combination Phillips/flathead screwdriver. All of these tools can be accessed easily and quickly, without having to open up the entire tool.
The Leatherman Skeletool is also incredibly lightweight and easy to carry, weighing in at just 5 ounces. This makes it a great choice for backpackers, hikers, or anyone who needs a reliable multi-tool that can be easily carried on the go.
Overall, the Leatherman Skeletool is a fantastic multi-tool that offers a lot of functionality in a compact and lightweight package. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, a handyman, or just someone who needs a reliable tool for everyday use, the Leatherman Skeletool is definitely worth considering.

A multi-tool that optimizes ergonomics and portability by reducing the tool set to the most important ones for daily use and carry. There's a second dual-driver bit hidden in the handle.
Consider the Leatherman Skeletool for example. On the fourth picture shown on KnifeCenter, it says that the knife is "Made in USA | US & Global Parts". In the product details, KnifeCenter says the knife is "Assembled in the USA".
The other model is the Skeletool CX. Similar to the regular model it features a stainless steel body, although it is painted black with a DLC-coating. The main difference between the regular Skeletool and the Skeletool CX is in the material of the steel blade.
While the complaints in the review were a factor in that decision, the primary reason was that I already had a multitool that handled all my needs: the Leatherman Skeletool CX. Mind, the Skeletool isn't a new design. It debuted in 2007, and judging from the number of variations that have been released, it's sold well.
The Skeletool RX is marketed as an emergency multitool which comes in a lovely red colour with a carbine glass breaking window bit attachment and a fully serrated blade. And then the CX version I own which has an upgraded non serrated blade. They will all do the job equally well.
