What's New for 2023? Mitsubishi has added a plug-in hybrid powertrain to the three-row Outlander lineup for 2023. The Outlander PHEV features Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system and acts as the company's next step in its commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2030.

The SE houses soft-touch seating surfaces, while the ES utilizes fabric seating surfaces. If you're interested in a leather-wrapped steering wheel, invest in the SE, but if a urethane steering wheel is your style, then the ES fits the bill. A 7-in. touch-panel display is included with the ES and a 7-in.

Standard features in the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander include power steering, power mirrors, fabric seats, dual-zone A/C, audio entertainment system with Apply CarPlay/Android Auto, 6 speakers, central locking and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Outlander isn't simply a reskinned Rogue, though, as it's built by Mitsubishi in Japan, while the Rogue is made in the US. For 2023, Mitsubishi introduces a new Outlander PHEV, a plug-in hybrid variant that is more powerful than the standard Outlander and the PHEV model it replaces.

If you want a seven-seat Outlander with all-wheel drive, then your most affordable option is the Outlander LS. It boasts all the standard equipment of the entry-level ES grade, but adds extra safety like a rear cross-traffic alert and rear autonomous emergency braking.
