Now, Burger King is unleashing more shade by bringing back its Big Mac-like Burger, the Big King XL. The burger originally dropped in 2019 for a limited time and was advertised as having "175% more beef" than a regular burger. The Big King XL made waves again by reappearing nationally in 2020.

Burger King made another playful jab at McDonald's with the release of its new Big King XL burger. The company boasts that the Big King XL has 175 percent more beef than the Big Mac. Burger King swapped out the third bun for more meat allowing the Big King XL to have more than a half pound of beef in each burger.

It is designed to compete with the Whopper sandwich. A similar variation called the Big Tasty, without the center "N'", which was first released in Saudi Arabia, is sold outside the United States in parts of Europe, South America, South Africa, The Middle East, and Taiwan. The extra beef is a likely contributor to the price difference – a Big King XL costs $12.90 compared to an average of $6.90 for a Big Mac.

The difference is the sandwhich build. The Double Whopper comes with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and onion. If you want cheese or bacon, you must pay extra to add them to the Double Whopper. However, the Big King XL comes with XL sauce, bacon, and cheese.
