Comparisons. The Charger and the Hoyt Spyder share many of the same specifications. The Charger is an inch longer in axel to axel measurement, both featuring the same brace height and bare bow mass. The Spyder 30 will shoot about five feet per second faster, but the draw is a bit stiffer as well.

The Z1S is Hoyt's new speed bow and it's a scorcher, offering speeds of up to 350 fps. The Z1S utilizes Hoyt's new S-Type cam, which maximizes cam potential at every draw length.

The Hoyt has the smoothest and best draw cycle out of every bow I have ever shot. This is important when trying to up your poundage. The Mathews draw cycle was just a little more aggressive. I was super surprised with my findings here.

Salt Lake City, Utah Louis, Missouri, to today's world-class, 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, Hoyt has been the world's premier bowmaker. Just as in the past, today every Hoyt bow features a long list of technologies and innovations.

BOWTECH REVOLT XL At those draw lengths, this bow is capable of a scorching 358 fps IBO. It measures 33 inches axle to axle and has a 6.25-inch brace height and, like the SR350, sports Bowtech's DeadLock technology to make tuning a cinch.

The RKT cam and a half system produces the energy and speeds up to 330 feet per second. Shooters will also be relieved that this velocity is attainable out of the box without needing to be super tuned.

330 feet per second The Carbon Element RKT has an advertised ATA/IBO speed rating of 330 feet per second. My personal speed test -- at 29 inches and 60 pounds, with a 366-grain arrow -- revealed an average arrow velocity of 290.2 fps.

Since 1931, Hoyt has been an industry leader and a world-renowned brand in archery and bowhunting. The Hoyt family was responsible for innovating more new archery ideas than anyone in their era, and that trend continues today.

Hoyt Archery is an American manufacturer of recurve and compound bows located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most notable for their competition recurve bows, which are featured prominently in the Olympics; every gold medalist in individual archery at the 2012 Summer Olympics shot a Hoyt recurve.

You are pushing the projectile to fly faster than it's intended to, and the flight characteristics of it will suffer. The same is true for arrows. We (and many archers who are much smarter than me) have found that arrows fly optimally in the 270-280 fps range.

The higher the number, the faster your arrow is flying. Most hunting setups propel arrows 270 to 285 fps, which is slower than the often-advertised IBO or ATA speeds of 350 fps or higher.
