The Nissan Z-series is a model series of sports cars manufactured by Nissan in seven generations since 1969. The original Z was first sold on October of 1969 in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z (Japanese: 日産・フェアレディZ, Hepburn: Nissan Fearedi Zetto) at Nissan Exhibition dealerships that previously sold the Nissan Bluebird.

In particular, the Nissan Z is made in the Nissan Motor Tochigi factory, which is located in the Japanese city of Kaminokawa within the prefecture (province) of Tochigi.

DCI Barlow (Stratford John) recruited DS John Watt (Frank Windsor) to head up the new motorised unit. Together they recruited PCs Smith (Brian Blessed), Weir (Joseph Brady), Lynch (James Ellis) and Steele (Jeremy Kemp) to the two car unit - call sign Z for Zulu.

The 2023 Z is powered by a 400-hp twin-turbocharged V-6 engine driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic.

The first two problems have to do with availability. Nissan told me the Z is in high demand. But the company has been dealing with an ongoing chip shortage issue that has been affecting production and demand. In a statement, Nissan mentioned how the company is trying to get production up for both dealers and customers.
