The new Mustang comes standard with an upgraded turbocharged 315-hp 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine with 350 pound-feet of torque. That's 5 horsepower more than the previous Mustang, but still trails the last-gen EcoBoost Performance's 330-hp.

The 2024 version's V8 engine enhancements are attributed to a dual intake, an upgraded oil pan, and a dual-throttle body. The four-cylinder engine also receives a power boost for 2024, with updates to its variable cam timing, direct injection system, and bore-to-stroke ratio resulting in 315 horsepower.

New for the 2024 model year is the Mustang Design Series, providing further customization options straight from the factory. The Bronze Design Series Appearance Package adds Sinister Bronze alloy wheels with bronze badges, and is available on both EcoBoost and GT models, with or without the optional Performance Pack.

2.3L EcoBoost Engine 2.3L EcoBoost Engine The 2024 Ford Mustang's upgraded base powertrain delivers an exciting driving experience. With its turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, the latest model has an increased output of 315 horsepower – 5 HP more than its predecessor.

Ford says two changes - a higher curb weight and the omission of a payload package available in last year's model - will bring down bed payload and towing capacity slightly. Towing capacity for 2024 tops out at 13,500 pounds, and bed payload at 2,455. EPA fuel economy figures for the new F-150 are not yet available.

However, it falls far short of the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 which brought in a whopping $1.1 million. Regardless, the real winner is JDRF, which is better known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. They'll be receiving the full $565,000 and this will go towards diabetes research and advocacy.

Originally, the manual-equipped Mustang GT coupe had a base MSRP of $43,090, but now that jumps to $44,090 after adding the $1000 gas-guzzler tax. This also affects the GT Premium coupe and convertible models, which see their starting prices rise to $48,610 and $54,110, respectively.

Ford says the 2024 Mustang is all-new but it's really just all-better. It launches now with a 315-hp 2.3-liter EcoBoost four and a 486-hp 5.0-liter V8. Prices start at $32,515 for the EcoBoost while the V8 GT starts at $43,090.
