The fan-favorite Vanilla Frosty was temporarily replaced by the Strawberry Frosty over the summer, followed by the seasonal Peppermint Frosty in November 2022. But now, the delicious chilly confection is triumphantly taking back its spot next to the famous Chocolate Frosty.

Since Nov. 15, Wendy's has been selling a seasonal, limited-edition Peppermint Frosty in place of its usual Strawberry Frosty. Deviating from its usual dessert selection, the Peppermint Frosty is the fast-food chain's boldest commitment to holiday cheer yet.

Why is peppermint the flavor of the holiday season? The answer probably lies with peppermint candy canes, though there are competing theories on how the iconic treat became so closely associated with the holiday.

According to the ingredient list on the Frosty menu page, the chocolate Frosty contains milk, sugar, corn syrup, cream, whey, nonfat dry milk, cocoa, guar gum, mono and diglycerides, cellulose gum, natural vanilla flavor, carrageenan, calcium sulfate, sodium citrate, dextrose, and Vitamin A palmitate.

“From this summer's break-out hit, Strawberry Frosty, and now with our Peppermint Frosty, our fans can always count on Wendy's to deliver the most craveable, iconic seasonal flavors.” Wendy's will also be offering Frosty Key Tags beginning Nov. 21 through Jan. 29, 2023.

Beginning next Tuesday, Wendy's will sell a peppermint Frosty for a limited time. It's the second new flavor the chain has launched in 2022, and it marks a notable shift for Wendy's in expanding beyond the traditional chocolate and vanilla: Peppermint is only its third new Frosty flavor in the US in the past 16 years.

With a consistency that falls somewhere between a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream, the Frosty was created to be eaten with a spoon. But if you prefer to let your Frosty melt a bit to enjoy it with a straw, we won't stop you.

(Some of you might think it sounds weird but it is quite delicious.) But a Wendy's Frosty is definitely not healthy and is definitely not Paleo or Clean Eating. I have come up with a far better solution - a copycat recipe that encompasses the flavor of the Frosty without all the bad ingredients that come with it.
