Using a treatment product with benzoyl peroxide is super effective for getting rid of your unwanted pimples, but you need to be patient and you need to be consistent in your application. It will take a few weeks for you to see results. This can be frustrating, but commit to really kick those pimples to the curb.

Wipe the pad or sponge gently onto the skin to apply the medication, usually once or twice a day to the skin as directed. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Improvement in acne or rosacea is usually seen after 3 to 4 weeks of use, and maximum benefit after 8 to 12 weeks of use.

You'll usually use benzoyl peroxide gel or face wash once or twice a day. If you have sensitive skin, use it once a day, before going to bed. No acne product will clear up your blemishes and scars overnight. Such is the case with benzoyl peroxide. It can take up to six weeks for new products to take full effect. If you don't see any improvements after six weeks, consider seeing a dermatologist.

Can I leave Benzac on overnight? Yes, you can. When you first start using Benzac AC treatment gels it's recommended that for the first three days, you only leave the treatment on for a couple of hours and wash it off. This ensures that you are getting your skin used to benzoyl peroxide.

Leave on all night. Persons with sensitive skin should be directed to apply the gel once daily before going to bed. Normal use may cause a mild burning feeling at first followed by some redness with some peeling during the first few days.

Common side effects of Benzac AC may include:

• mild stinging or burning;
• itching or tingly feeling;
• skin dryness, peeling, or flaking; or.
• redness or other irritation.

After three days of no redness, you can then apply Benzac in the evening and leave it on overnight. Make sure that you are applying a moisturiser after the treatment product to prevent any dryness from occurring.

During the first 3 weeks you are using benzoyl peroxide, your skin may become irritated. Also, your acne may seem to get worse before it gets better. If your skin problem has not improved within 4 to 6 weeks, check with your doctor.
