This was a great King novel. We have a modern war (Irak, seen from Billy's perspective), a strong female character (Alice) and some fine crime story with a shot of horror rolling along.

Stephen King lit upon the idea for his new book, Billy Summers, while telling himself bedtime stories. “I started to think about this problem, of a [hitman] who had to take a shot and get away from the fifth floor, or the high floor, of a building,” he tells Rolling Stone.

Alice goes back to Buck's and finishes Billy's story giving it a happy ending. Billy had left all his savings to her. She decides to study English literature and become a writer, continuing Billy's dreams.

There is a conflict for the reader as Billy is a killer, but we also see he's a decent guy as he embeds himself in the local community.

The selection on Audible is absolutely unbeatable. Many of the books are Audible-only, so you can't get them anywhere else. Audible is also really on top of getting new titles, especially bestsellers, quickly after they're released if not at the same time.
