2001
Swiffer WetJet is a mop. It only uses WetJet brand solvent in a special, unopenable bottle. It was introduced in 2001 in Canada and Belgium but came to the United States in 2001. Its original name was the Swiffer WetJet Power Mop.
In 1999, P&G launched an entirely new line of home cleaning products based on the design principle of “fast clean.” The Swiffer product line turned what had once been a physically demanding, time-consuming chore into a cleaning experience that is quick, easy, and even fun.
Swiffer is an American brand of cleaning products that is made by Procter & Gamble. Introduced in 1999, the brand uses the "razor-and-blades" business model, whereby the consumer purchases the handle assembly at a low price, but must continue to purchase replacement refills and pads over the lifespan of the product.

What You'll Need
- Swiffer disposable dry sweeping pad.
- 1 Swiffer disposable wet mop pad.
- 1 container Swiffer floor cleaning solution.
- Swiffer WetJet disposable pad.
The Swiffer 360 Duster gives you a full range of dirt-trapping, dusting power. With Dust Lock Adhesive fibers placed all around the duster head you get 3X more cleaning power than a traditional feather duster, allowing you to get deep into grooves around your home that need some TLC.
There's more than just one Swiffer though: there's the Swiffer Sweeper, the WetJet Mop, the Swiffer Vac, the Swiffer Steam Mop, and the Swiffer 360 Duster.
Swiffer doesn't contain propylene glycol, it contains propylene glycol n-propyl ether, a completely different substance with very low toxicity. Furthermore, the solvent on the mop is mostly water with the propylene glycol n-propyl ether being present to a maximum of four percent.
While a Swiffer is a great tool for everyday cleaning (especially if you vacuum first), don't use it if there's a lot of dirt or other debris on your floors. These bigger messes might be a better job for the Swiffer WetJet, or a regular mop or vacuum.
Swiffer is safe on finished floors but steer clear of using it if your deck is waxed, oiled, or unfinished.
