Unlike the familiar router-to-range extender network configuration, eero is a WiFi system that uses multiple access points to provide your home with fast, reliable coverage all on a single network. Range extenders can expand the reach of your existing wireless network.

eero doesn't replace your modem, it replaces your router. The first eero plugs into your existing cable or DSL modem. If you have a combination modem/router, you'll be using that as a modem and disabling the routing function by putting it in bridge mode. (check out this article for our instructions on how to do this).

With an eero mesh system, multiple eeros work together harmoniously to send connection in every direction throughout your home. In addition, our patented TrueMesh technology intelligently routes traffic to reduce drop-offs and dead spots.

In order to use eero, you will still need to have an Internet Service Provider (ISP). eero works with all ISPs in the United States and Canada.

eero is the little router with a huge wireless footprint. This economical option still gives you the great speed and coverage across your home that you're used to. With the new design to raise the antennas, the little router offers up to 1500 sq ft of coverage and can be a great addition to expand a network.

One eero can support up to 128 devices (you read that right). That's one very connected home. However, if those devices are heavily using the Internet for activities like streaming video, you'll probably see best results using up to 30 devices with each eero.

The Eero 6 Plus is available now at $300 for a three-pack, $240 for a two-pack or $140 for a single device. Each unit is identical, so you can use any of them as either an extender or the main router of the system.

Please note: if you do not have a modem, instead of plugging in your eero device into a modem, you will plug it into your nbn™ NTD. The eero device features a built-in smart home hub which connects things like smart lights, locks, plugs and other compatible devices to your eero network.

Please note: you need a modem to connect to your eero router. If your modem is built into your current router (also known as a modem-router), then you will need to connect your eero to your existing router. The first eero device should be connected to either your existing cable, fiber, DSL modem, or modem-router.

While a line of sight is optimal to reduce the chance of any interference between eeros, it is not a requirement. Every home is unique and eeros are designed to work together through common barriers including walls, doors, and between floors.
