Born in Lexington, Massachusetts in 1966, Dratch attended Dartmouth College, where she graduated with a degree in drama. After college, she moved to Chicago, where she joined The Second City comedy troupe.

In 1999, Dratch joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live," where she became known for her memorable characters, including the Boston teen "Debbie Downer" and the oddball alien "Zagat's" critic. She appeared on the show for seven seasons before leaving in 2006.

After leaving "Saturday Night Live," Dratch continued to act in films and television shows. Some of her notable roles include the film "Click" with Adam Sandler, the television show "30 Rock," and the movie "Sisters" with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Dratch is also an accomplished writer, having co-authored a book titled "Girl Walks Into a Bar: Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle" with Jill Kargman in 2012. She has also written for several television shows, including "The King of Queens" and "Mega Babies."
