The 58th animated film produced by the studio, it is the sequel to Frozen (2013).

It stars the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff. Set three years after the first film, Frozen II follows sisters Anna and Elsa, iceman Kristoff, his reindeer Sven, and the snowman Olaf as they travel to an enchanted forest to unravel the origin of Elsa's magical power.

The second film addresses loss, grief, depression, and how to find hope and personal growth through life's uncertainties. Because this is a children's film, even kids can learn these lessons from a early age and bring these lifesaving truths into their adulthood.

While it's true that the center of Frozen as a franchise has always been the relationship between Elsa and Anna, Frozen 2 gives Anna and Kristoff a rather elaborate plot about getting engaged; meanwhile, when it comes to love interests, Elsa gets nothing.

All she needed is love, some understanding and people accepting her for who she is. This is all mental health sufferers could ever ask for. What sets Elsa apart from the mass array of Disney princesses is her inner battle with mental illness, anxiety and depression.

Honeymaren Honeymaren, a member of the Northuldra tribe who was trapped in the Enchanted Forest by the curse, could return for Frozen 3 as Elsa's girlfriend based on the two characters' shared chemistry.

Canonically, Elsa of Arendelle, who sits upon the tiny northern kingdom's throne at the end of Frozen, is not queer. Canonically, she is not romantically interested in anybody.

A few really sad things go down in Frozen 2. Frozen handles the deaths of Anna and Elsa's parents, Queen Iduna and King Agnarr, pretty gracefully (it helps that their shipwreck is during "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?"). In Frozen 2, however, we learn more details about their deaths, and it's pretty sad.

Although the sequel reveals how Elsa got her powers and offers insight into the mysterious death of her parents, Elsa does not get a girlfriend in the film.

Anna is the youngest child in the royal family of Arendelle, whose older sister, Elsa was born with the power to create and control ice and snow. Despite this, the sisters become best friends and frequently use Elsa's abilities for their enjoyment.
