Frequently Asked Questions about sonicare tv spot, 'getting it right: keys'

You can choose between three different intensity levels: low, medium, and high. The intensity will automatically be selected based on the brush head you attach. While brushing, you can change the intensity by pressing the mode/intensity button.

Press the power on/off button to turn on the Sonicare. Apply light pressure to maximize Sonicare's effectiveness and let the Sonicare toothbrush do the brushing for you. Gently move the brush head slowly across the teeth in a small back and forth motion so the longer bristles reach between your teeth.

The Sonicare uses sonic technology in the form of acoustic energy to improve the plaque removal ability of traditional toothbrush bristles. The brush has an electromagnetic device that drives the bristles' motions at 261 Hz, or 31,320 brush strokes per minute.

Clean is your toothbrush' workhorse mode. At 31,000 brush strokes per minute, it removes plaque with superior efficiency in a two-minute program. The Clean mode is the base setting on every Sonicare toothbrush. If you're going to stick to one mode, make it this one.

Fully charge the battery. A toothbrush without a fully-charged battery may need more power to vibrate at its original strength. We recommend charging it overnight for at least 24 hours. The chargers for all Sonicare toothbrushes are different and not compatible with other Sonicare models.

Low-abrasive toothpastes and gels are best for both electric and sonic toothbrushes. While your current high abrasion toothpaste may work well with your manual toothbrush, it can prove abrasive with powered toothbrushes.

These have improved upon virtually every single aspect of the traditional toothbrush. Most brands and models of today's sonic toothbrush can give users up 40,000 brush strokes per minute, providing a surface cleaning that is virtually unattainable by standard brushing alone.

The available scientific evidence suggests that sonic toothbrushes are superior to manual toothbrushes. They are able to remove significantly more plaque during a single use than a manual toothbrush would.

White (2:30 minutes): great for removing surface stains. Polish (1:00 minute): ideal for smoothing the surface of your teeth. Gum Care (3:00 minutes): perfect for cleaning your teeth and gums. Gum Health (3:20 minutes): designed to clean and massage your gums for ideal gum health.

Change the brushing mode The mode selected impacts the vibration level on your toothbrush. Some brushing modes are less powerful, for example, TongueCare and Sensitive. We recommend increasing the vibration by changing the brushing mode.

If your Sonicare is not as powerful as it used to be it could be because of a misalignment of the magnetic motor, e.g. if it's dropped. Philips built it like this on purpose and you need open the toothbrush and realign the magnetic motor. Caution: Please only proceed if your toothbrush is out of warranty.

31,000 strokes per minute The brush head vibrates at hundreds of times per second, with the latest models at 31,000 strokes per minute or 62,000 movements per minute (517 Hz).
